Childhood Obesity Epidemic

Childhood Obesity costs the US health care system nearly $173 billion a year.  Childhood obesity is a growing epidemic that requires intervention and preventative measures. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), obesity affects 20% of children putting them at risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers.
